Tonsils and Adenoids Out!

After months and months of dealing with soar throats, no sleep, not eating good, snoring.... The tonsils and adenoids came out!
On February 1 Jon and I headed to the hospital with Reagan. We explained what was going to happen and I am pretty sure all Reagan heard was " Lots of ice-cream!"! The surgery went well. Reagan did AWESOME! She was in recovery for 30 minutes and then brought back to us. We had to stay at the hospital for 2 hours. Reagan was ok until she realized they put an IV in. After she drank some fluids the nurse said we could take it out ( because of how upset Reagan was!). IT WAS AWFUL!! The tape was SO tight it took her 10 minutes to get it off and the IV out. Reagan was screaming and fighting it the entire time.  Once that was done and over with we sat and watched cartoons. Reagan got to drink juice and eat a Popsicle.  We finally got to go home and we were all excited to get out of there.
On the way home we stopped to get Reagan's pain medicine and she was good until we were leaving Hy-Vee. The medicine was wearing off and it was starting to hurt. We got home and got her all set up in our room for the rest of the day. Jon and I took turns with her. Kamryn would stand at the bottom of the stairs and yell Reagan's name. She just wanted to be with her!
Reagan finally slept and when she woke up she was not feeling well. After a warm shower and some ice cream everything was better. She was excited to sleep with me that night. That was the hardest day. A few nights later she had a rough  night and ended up in bed with me and Jon- she slept great, we did not!
She received lots of gifts, cards, flowers, and balloons. We watched lots of movies and ate a lot of ice cream. She was home for a week and we were both ready for her to go back to  school!!
Before Surgery

After Surgery snuggling with Mommy and Scrubby (her stuffed dog from the nurses, she named it Scrubby because she got to wear scrubs!)

Snuggling with daddy after a grape popsicle!

She is doing GREAT! It was a rough few days (pretty sure always harder on me). I am not gonna lie, it was fun to have some snuggle time with her!!
