Happy Birthday USA!!!

Rain, Rain go away, come again another day!!! Happy Birthday USA!! I got up on Saturday and was bummed to see it raining. Luckily it didn't slow us down too much. We didn't have to travel to far for the 4th this year... everything took place in Slater. Slater used to host the celebration every other year, but now it is every year. (Which is great for us!) We went to the parade. Leslie and Addy joined us because Chad had to work. We sat right at the beginning. It started to rain while we were waiting, but eventually it stopped. Reagan and Addy had a good time waving at everyone in the parade. They got a lot of candy and didn't waste any time eating it! Jon was in the parade helping launch water balloons, which is normally fun because it is usually 90 degrees! Reagan and Addy waiting for the parade to start.

After the parade we got home just in time for it to start raining again. Leslie and Addy headed home and Jon and I decided we would brave the weather and head up to the park to get some food. We ate, walked around and looked at different things people were selling, and headed over to some friends for a bit. Then we went and watched mud volleyball. It was very entertaining and we are planning on playing next year. Then it was nap time for me and Reagan!! Jon volunteered to work at the beer tent. He got home in time to go watch fireworks with the neighbors. They shoot the fireworks off about 2 blocks away from our house, so we had great seats. Reagan kept peeking out from her blanket to see them, then she would cover her eyes back up. The fireworks were wonderful considering the size of our town. They lasted about 25 minutes and there were a few stars and a smiley face in the mix. We made it through fireworks with no crying!! It was a good day and good night even though the weather didn't cooperate!
